The Place Command…it sounds so simple. Go lay down on your bed and wait to be released. So seemingly simple…but really not at all! The Place Command is an obedience command that we use as a protocol for when visitors come over. It’s fantastic when used in rehabilitating dogs with fear based issues or aggression issues, in dealing with impulse control, leadership or just straight up teaching your puppy how to deal with guests. This command gives you so much bang for your buck in dealing with a dog’s state-of-mind.
Check out Chance rocking his place command with the help of some friends to increase distraction. When introducing any command, we start in low distraction and gradually increase the difficulty by adding distraction, in this case, in the way of real people coming through the door.
